How to Make Voidbloom in Sandustry
Voidbloom is Void Petals plus Redsand, but only if the two pixels fall onto each other. A conveyor pushing them together will never work.

Combine Void Petals with Redsand. The two pixels have to fall on top of one another — pushing them together with a Conveyor Belt does not combine them, which is why most first attempts produce nothing.
Voidbloom’s main job is feeding the Flux Emanator: one Voidbloom always becomes one Fluxite, so your Fluxite income is exactly your Voidbloom income. It has a second use late on — the Recall Shard (tier 5, 4,000 Gold) teleports you back to a recall portal that Voidbloom powers.
The recipe, and the rule that breaks it
Voidbloom is made by combining Void Petals and Redsand.
The combination only happens when the two pixels land on each other vertically. Sideways contact does not count. If you build the obvious thing — two belts converging so the materials meet — you will watch them ride along next to each other indefinitely and nothing will combine.
Build it as a drop instead. Get one material sitting in place and let the other fall onto it from above.
Redsand comes from Redsoil, and it is a dense solid at 160 — heavier than Sand and Wet Sand at 150, lighter than Gold at 300. That density is useful: in a mixed line Redsand settles below Sand, so a Filter set to allow Redsand pulls it cleanly off the bottom of the pile.
Feeding the Flux Emanator
Once you have Voidbloom, the Emanator turns it into Fluxite — but only from one direction.
Voidbloom must be dropped onto the top side of the Flux Emanator. Delivered to a side or from below, it does nothing. Since the same “must fall from above” pattern already governs making the Voidbloom, the whole line naturally wants to be built vertically: petals and sand meeting on a drop, the bloom falling onwards onto the Emanator underneath.
The Fluxite then grows outward as a circle from the bottom of the Emanator, and it needs empty space to grow into. The Fluxite page covers the harvesting rhythm and why letting the ball fill its cavity hurts performance.

Where it sits in research
Voidbloom itself needs no unlock — it is a material reaction, not a building. What needs research is the thing that consumes it:
| Unlock | Tier | Cost |
|---|---|---|
| Flux Emanator | 5 | 2,000 Gold |
| Void Rift | 5 | 3,000 Gold |
The Void Rift produces Void Seeds, which can be planted and refined into void elements. If you are building towards a self-sufficient void line rather than living off what you find, that is the other half of tier 5 to budget for.
